Finally, there’s a way to decide.

Finally, There's a way to decide.

By Sunday evening, you'll know yourself better — and have a clearer path forward.

By Sunday evening, you'll know yourself better — and have a clearer path forward.

When it comes to deciding whether to become a parent or live childfree, do any of these thoughts sound familiar?

Everyone says I’d make a great parent — but does that mean I should become one?

I don’t want to be perceived as cold or unloving if I decide not to have children.

I love my partner, but I’m worried I’ll resent them if I just go along with what they want.

I love my dog more than anything. This love is spontaneous. I fear that loving my child won’t come naturally.

What if time slips away, and I never make a conscious decision about parenthood?

I'm worried I'll say yes — or no — without fully knowing why, and later realize it was for the wrong reason.

If you recognized yourself in any of that, take a breath. You're not broken, and you're not alone.

And even if you feel hopelessly stuck, there is a way forward.

Here is how it works.

Since 1991 — long before just a few were doing this work — Ann has guided people through one of life's most defining questions. In Is Parenthood for You?, she'll share the method she and Denise L. Carlini developed to help people move from stuck to clear.

You've probably already tried making a list of pros and cons. This isn't that.

Throughout the weekend, Ann will lead you through live teachings, meditations, journaling exercises, and reflective practices. You'll learn how unconscious stories — or as Ann calls them, recordings — can quietly run the show without your awareness. These are messages absorbed in childhood and reinforced over time, and they often sit at the very heart of your indecision.

This weekend, you'll begin to identify yours.

You'll look honestly at the cultural fantasies and fears we've all absorbed, the ones that shape what you imagine parenthood or a childfree life would be like.

In a judgment-free, structured environment, you'll explore the many feelings tied to this decision and come to understand what they're really telling you.

Whatever you decide, you'll know it came from you.

Over the weekend, you'll:

  • Uncover the unconscious beliefs and fears keeping you stuck
  • Separate what your family and culture want from what you want
  • Learn to sit with not knowing, without it derailing you
  • Discover the many definitions of parenthood, including your own
  • Understand why it's never too late to heal your early wounds

Uncovering Your Story: A Stream-of-Consciousness Writing Guide

These writing prompts will begin the process of uncovering unconscious stories — beliefs you might have that you’re not aware of. As you’ll discover, the beauty of stream-of-consciousness writing is that your mind is on your side and will deliver valuable information to you without you having to overthink.

Bonus #2
Putting Aside Your Externals and Fears (15-Minute Guided Audio Exercise)

One of the likely reasons you haven’t been able to decide whether to become a parent is that you’re trying to merge several concepts — what you want, the details that go into your decision, and your fears about this decision — into one overwhelming mental task. This 15-minute guided exercise will help you separate these concepts from one another so you can begin to discover what you truly want.

Bonus #3
Digital excerpt of the book Motherhood Is It for Me? by Denise L. Carlini and Ann Davidman

Get a head start with the first three chapters of Ann's book — a grounding introduction to the process you'll experience over the weekend.
