About Ann Davidman, MFT
 |
I specialize in helping people gain greater clarity when deciding whether or not to become a parent. I help them understand what their indecision or ambivalence is about. I help individuals expand their capacity to think outside the box and to resolve their own internal challenges. |
My ability is to help you discover what it is that you truly want for yourself. The way I work helps you get rid of self-limiting beliefs and rigid patterns, which can get in the way of you knowing your true desires. In addition to this I help you grieve unresolved losses, which can get in the way of discovering your true desire about parenthood. I bring respect, interaction and compassion to my work.
I began working with women in 1991 developing this program ‘Motherhood-Is it for me?™’ with my colleague, Denise Carlini, MA. We started out with the support group setting and then developed weekend workshops for both men and women. Out of my love for this work I continued developing a 12-week program for individuals.
In addition to the counseling work I do with the Motherhood-Is it for me? Program™, I am also a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and I have had a general psychotherapy practice, for the past 18 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from SF State University. In this practice, I work with issues such as self-esteem, loss, depression, childhood trauma, adult children of alcoholics, intimacy and relationship issues. I am trained in EMDR, a technique of bi-lateral stimulation to help process and integrate trauma.
I am a respectful, interactive and compassionate psychotherapist committed to your growth.
